WORLD Speedway Champion Jason Doyle is on his way back to former club Leicester for their opening night of the season.
Doyle spent two seasons at Beaumont Park and he has recently rejoined Somerset for the new campaign.
The Watling JCB Lions will face the Rebels on Monday March 26 in an opening night challenge.
It means some headline clashes between Doyle and fellow Grand Prix superstar Martin Vaculik which promise to be full of entertainment value.
Leicester boss Simon Stead said: “This is a wonderful way for us to open the season at Leicester, to welcome Somerset with the World Champion is amazing.
“What Doyley has achieved is remarkable and his battles with the likes of Martin and Hans Andersen will be great to watch.
“It’s great for us to get the team together for a meeting before we move into Cup and league action, it will help us get to know each other.
“I’m expecting a big crowd on that night and when you look down the fixture list we really do have some exciting meetings to look forward to in the new season.”
